Nokia to launch two Android Nougat smartphones with Snapdragon 820 processor and more

Upcoming Two Nokia smartphones to have Snapdragon 820 processors, 2K displays and run on Android Nougat

Ever since the first press renders of Nokia P1 Android smartphones were leaked, the tech world is eagerly awaiting more news about them. And we have some good news. Nokia is making not one but two smartphones which will run Google’s latest Android Nougat operating system.

According to the latest reports, two Nokia Android smartphones will be made by Finland’s HMD Global. The reports suggest that the smartphones might be available to buyers before the end of this year.

The reports also suggest that Nokia will bring out two versions, one with 5.2-inch display and the other with 5.5-inch display. Both the Nokia Android smartphones will sport 2K resolution (QHD) displays and will come with IP68 certification, which effectively means they will be highly resistant to water and dust on the similar lines to phones like the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy S7.

Another report by Gizmo China suggests that both the Nokia Android smartphones will be powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset and will come with Z-Launcher System UI based on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat.

What will impress most buyers awaiting the Nokia Android smartphones is that the upcoming smartphones will have an all metal body and feature an OLED screen. Both the smartphones will also have fingerprint scanners. The report says that “the sensors on these two smartphones may be most sensitive ever and will be based upon Nokia’s extensive research on wonder material graphene.”

Nokia Power User websites says that both the Nokia Android smartphones will be available towards the end of 2016 but adds that their launch date will be dependent on testing and development of the phones and might move to first quarter of 2017.

Readers may remember that in May this year, Nokia said that it has granted the newly-established HMD Global, the exclusive global license to create and sell Nokia-branded mobile phones and tablets for the next 10 years.

Nokia was the erstwhile king of smartphone and mobile business and looking at the features, the upcoming smartphones sure look to regain that top spot for Nokia again.
