After a gap of 4 years, Wikileaks is once again accepting leaks online

Wikileaks starts accepting leaks online via Tor after a gap of 4 years

Wikileaks, the online whistleblower system has now started to accept the anonymous leaks once again through Tor anonymizer network. Wikileaks, which was at the forefront of exposing Government and business wrongdoings through leaks, had to shut down its online acceptance website after a staffer named Daniel Domscheit-Berg split with Wikileaks. Domscheit-Berg had some disputes with the Wikileaks founder Julian Assange over security issues and held the encryption keys for all the documents received through the system. He had destroyed thousands of submissions according to Wired rather than let them be published in a way that might endanger the sources.

The submissions to the Wikileaks online leak page is accessible only as a Tor hidden service to maintain the anonymity of the whistleblower. The new sumbission page is available at wlupld3ptjvsgwqw.onion. -You can download Tor bundle here.

The new submission page has a number of fields where visitors can describe the nature of the leaked material, which groups had access to it, and whether the sources are under any threat from the publication.

The new submission system also gives the whistleblowers and leakers a control over the timing of the publishing of the leaks. They can mark the leaks for immediate publication or mark materials as only to be published after a certain date or a certain event has occurred.
