Sharp’s adorable RoboHon robot phone that has legs, priced at not so adorable $1800

RoBoHoH, Sharp’s adorable cutie smartphone which has two legs and projects you happy images when you’re sad and alone in your bedroom, will be available for $1800. The smartphone that walks will set you back by a whopping $235 per inch.

Sharp has started accepting preorders for its adorable RoBoHoN robot, a 7.7-inch-tall (19.5 centimeter) humanoid that also comes with all the basic features of a smartphone. The company said it plans to release the robots in Japan on May 26 at a price of 198,000 yen — or more than $1,800.

RoBoHoN runs on Android 5.0 mobile operating system and comes with 16 gigabytes of storage and an 8-megapixel camera. The tiny robot walks on two legs and can operate via voice commands.In addition to handling calls and text messages, it’s equipped with a projector and can sit bedside and serve as an alarm clock, according to the company.

Sharp developed the robot phone in collaboration with University of Tokyo professor and Robo Garage CEO Tomotaka Takahashi.
