Nokia 8 and Nokia 9 prices, release dates and specs

Nokia, the former yesteryear king of mobiles, is back in the news once again. Thanks to the rumor mills surrounded around its eagerly awaited upcoming flagships, Nokia 8 and Nokia 9.

Now, according to the latest sketch designs obtained by NokiaPowerUser, Nokia 8 is said to sport a 5.7-inch QHD display, while Nokia 9 may come with a 5.5-inch QHD display. Both the devices will be powered by the Snapdragon 835 processor and will come with 6GB of RAM. Other important features of the Nokia 8 and Nokia 9 are the Carl Zeiss 22MP dual-lens camera on the rear and a 12MP front camera as well as either 64GB or 128GB of in-built storage or both.

Further, Nokia 8 is expected to have bigger top and bottom bezels than Nokia 9, while the latter will have small bezels and no physical home button. Nokia 8 and Nokia 9 are tipped to come with Carl Zeiss lens, along with dual cameras at the rear panel. Both the devices will be running Google’s latest mobile operating system, Android Nougat 7.1.2 and come with pre-installed Google Apps. Also, Nokia 8 and Nokia 9 are expected to come with 3,800 mAh non-removable lithium-ion battery along and Quick Charge 4.0 technology.

Besides the above, Nokia 9 will be the first device to feature “Nokia OZO audio” enhancements system. Nokia says this tech is essentially “advanced psychoacoustic technology” that “allows sound to be captured and played back just like it would in real life”. Also, Nokia 9 is expected to arrive with an Iris Scanner, which is currently present in Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+, an IP68 water-and-dust resistant certification, and a fingerprint scanner.

Nokia 8 and 9 are rumored to be unveiled in July or August this year and these devices to hit the stores by the end of the third quarter. According to NPU, Nokia 9 would be priced at approximately $699 in the U.S. and EUR 749 in European markets. On the other hand, Nokia 8 is expected to be cheaper than Nokia 9.

Well, the above specifications and features are just rumors, as Nokia hasn’t officially disclosed any further information about these Android smartphones. So, there are chances that the details may vary or not turn out to be true in the future.
