Asus ROG Phone 2 Confirmed To Sport A 120Hz Display

Gaming smartphones have gained immense popularity in recent years. Well, ASUS may soon unveil a successor to its popular ROG Phone that was announced last year.

This time around ASUS is partnering with Tencent games to launch the new ASUS ROG Phone 2.

ASUS ROG Phone 2: Expected Specifications

A recent post from Weibo confirmed that the un-announced ASUS ROG Phone 2 will feature a 120Hz display. The 120Hz display will definitely help the phone to stand out from the crowd and offer enhanced gaming experience to the users.

It is worth noting that, after Razer Phone and Razer Phone 2, ASUS ROG Phone 2 will be the third smartphone in the world to offer a refresh rate of 120Hz.

ASUS has stated that in the near future, more and more game will be optimized for the 120Hz display.

ASUS ROG Phone 2 will be powered by the Snapdragon 855 processor coupled with the Adreno 640 GPU. Furthermore, this gaming smartphone might come with 12GB RAM variant.

Lastly, we can expect subtle improvements in the cooling system of this smartphone.

Last year ASUS ROG Phone featured an AMOLED panel. Consequently, we can even expect the ROG Phone 2 to feature a 120Hz AMOLED display.

Higher Refresh Rate Smartphones

One of the key features of any smartphone is its display. Well, having a smartphone or tablet with a higher refresh rate increases the responsiveness of that device. As mentioned earlier, higher refresh rate also enhances the overall gaming experience.

Presently, OnePlus 7 Pro is the only mainstream smartphone that features a 90Hz refresh rate display. Additionally, iPad Pro also features a high refresh rate of around 60Hz.
