LG announces LG Band Play 4G LTE smartphone with 5-inch HD display, 13MP camera

LG announces mid-budget 4G/LTE Android smartphone, LG Band forĀ $356 with 5-inch HD display

South Korean electronic giant, LG, today announced a new 4G LTE mid-ranger called the Band Play in Korea. The LG Band Play comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display and is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor. It will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. The LG Band Play features a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, Laser AutoFocus like the G3, G4 alongwith a 5MP front-facing selfie camera.

LG said that the Band Play variant announced in Korea is a single-SIM device with 4G LTE connectivity but a dual-SIM variant should also be in the works. LG also stated that LG Band has a powerful 1-Watt loudspeaker for clear sound and Band Play buyers will also get LG’s QuadBeat headset within bundled with the smartphone.

LG Band Play comes with 2GB RAM onboard and 16GB internal memory which is expandable via microSD slot. It comes with Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi a/b/g/n, GPS and NFC for connectivity.Ā LG Band Play packs in a 2300 mAh removable battery.

LG has priced the Band Play at 294,800 Korean Won (about $356 or Rs. 22,650) Ā in the South Korean markets and will be available in Korea through SKTelecom in black and white colors starting June 25th.

As of now LG has not divulged any plans for LG Band Play’s international release.
