Apple is extending its free trial membership for the Apple TV+ service for the second time for its existing free trial users, 9to5Mac reports.
For those unaware, Apple offers a one-year free trial of its streaming service for anyone purchasing a new iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV or Mac. Customers need to redeem the offer within the first 90 days of purchase via the Apple TV app.
The latest announcement now allows anyone with an Apple TV+ subscription whose free trial period is scheduled to end between now through June 2021 to enjoy their favorite shows as well as upcoming ones until July 2021. The extension is also applicable for people who are currently paying for the Apple One bundle subscription.
Further, customers who have an annual subscription that expires between February and June 2021 will also reportedly get an extension until July 2021 with no additional charge added towards their account.
Citing the coronavirus pandemic, Apple had announced the first TV+ free trial extension in October 2020, which pushed the free trial renewals to February 2021.
All eligible customers will be notified of the extension by Apple via email in the next couple of weeks. Like last time, the company will be compensating existing subscribers in the form of credit refunds. For those who have been paying the monthly subscription in the amount of $4.99 will receive credits in the same amount every month in their App Store account through July 2021.
