Reddit moderators are now banning redditors who post “Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens” spoilers on public boards
In a utterly surprise move, Reddit moderators took the drastic decision to ban redditors who post Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens spoilers on Reddit.
Star Wars 7 : The Force Awakens will be released in American theaters over weekend tomorrow. However several users who saw the movie began posting spoilers about the ending. Immediately, Reddit was filled with posts on spoilers which ultimately led the mods to take a decision to ban those users. “We’ve banned dozens of users so far for this,” said TheGreatZiegfeld, one of Reddit’s moderators. “I think all the mods have had it spoiled for them by now. We’ll do our best to make sure you guys don’t suffer the same fate.”
Though posting spoilers is bad especially to those who are yet to see the movie but banning them is taking moderation duties too far. Right now, the people who posted “Star Wars 7” spoilers are banned from Reddit and not just smaller subreddits.
It is yet unclear if it’s a permanent ban or a temporary one.
