Dellโs new Precision 5520 mobile workstation PCs available with Ubuntu
Dell’s Barton George officially announced yesterday that its Precision 5520 mobile workstation powered by Ubuntu Linux is now available for pre-order worldwide.
The company claims that the Dell Precision 5520 is “world’s thinnest, lightest and smallest 15-inch mobile workstation in a stunning design” It is a mobile workstation inside of a smaller 14-inch chassis and weighs only 3.93 pounds (1.78kg). It also features 7th Gen Intel Core or Intel Xeon processors and a PremierColor 4K InfinityEdge display that comes in UltraSharp Full HD (1920 x 1080) or UltraSharp Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) variants including anti-glare LED-backlit panel with Dell’s Premium Panel Guarantee. The display will be also available in touch option in the Ultra HD model.
The Dell Precision 5520 also includes NVIDIA Quadro professional graphics card, faster 2400Mhz DDR4 memory, Thunderbolt 3 connectivity, and higher capacity batteries to help you power through your day. It also supports up to 2TB SSD storage, using ultrafast PCIe SSDs. This new mobile workstation has beautiful carbon fiber palm rest and a new touchpad. The PremierColor panel guarantees 100% Adobe RGB minimum gamut display for unparalleled color fidelity.
In terms of connectivity, the Precision 5520 includes two USB 3.0 ports, one Thunderbolt 3 port, a memory card reader, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and an HDMI port.
