Sony unveils Xperia C4 smartphone with 5 MP front camera and LED flash for selfies

Sony announces propped up and updated Xperia C4 selfie phone with better specifications

Sony which is faltering with losing sales has launched two new Xperia smartphones, the Xperia C4 and Xperia C4 Dual-SIM which are aimed specifically at selfie aficionados as both smartphones will come with a 5 megapixel front camera with LED flash.

Both smartphones have 5.5-inch full HD IPS display which will give 1920×1080 resolution to the user. They will run on 64-bit MediaTek MTK6752 SoC at 1.7GHz octa-core CPU and Mali 760 MP2 GPU. They will run on 2GB RAM and have 16GB internal memory which can be expanded to 128GB via microSD expansion slot.

Clearly Sony is banking on making camera the USP of C4 with a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a massive 5MP front camera which will come with LED flash. This feature will allow selfie lovers to take selfies even in dark places without any problem.

Both smartphones support 4G/LTE and will run on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. They will have a 2600 mAh battery which Sony claims gives a talktime of up to 12 hours 47 min.

Xperia C4 comes in a choice of white, black and mint. Sony has not revealed the prices for Xperia C4 or Xperia C4 Dual-SIM, but said that both the smartphones will be available to buyers in June 2015.
