Sony launches Octa-core 64-bit processor Xperia M4 Aqua and Xperia C4 in India

After the unleashing of the Xperia Z3+, Sony has just unveiled the Xperia M4 Aqua and Xperia C4 in India. Both these handsets are not brand new, however, they are very closely associated in terms of specifications and tech. Sony has launched the Xperia M4 Aqua with an octa-core 64-bit processor, which is the first of its kind for the company.

If we do a side-by-side comparison of these two devices, there’s really not much to differentiate between the two. The C4 does include a sharper, 1080 x 1920 display, while the M4 Aqua offers the 720 x 1280 display; however, the latter has the upper hand due the dust and waterproofing features. Both are dual-SIM smartphones and will be available in black, white and coral color variants.

Xperia M4 Aqua has a 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen HD display. The phone measures 145.5mm x 72.6mm x 7.3mm and weighs 136 gms. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor (quad-core 1.5GHz + quad-core 1.0GHz), coupled with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 405 GPU.
The smartphone comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage capacity and can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The smartphone has a non-removable Li-Ion 2400mAh battery that can last two full days after charging once.

Sony Xperia M4 Aqua sports a 13 megapixel primary camera with autofocus and LED flash, and a wide-angle 5 megapixel secondary camera for improved selfies. The smartphone is water-proof and dust-proof, and also has a cap-less microUSB. On the connectivity front, the phone supports 3G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS.

On the other hand, the Sony Xperia C4 has a 5.5 inch full HD IPS display. It measures 150.3×77.4×7.9mm and weighs 147 gms. It is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core (Cortex-A53) MediaTek MT6752 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. The phone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop, the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system.
Xperia C4 comes with an internal storage of 16GB which can be expanded via microSD card up to 128GB. It is packed by a 2,600mAh battery and the company claims that the smartphone can deliver up to 12 hours 47 minutes of talk time and up to 682 hours of standby time.

It sports a 13 megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and 5 megapixel front camera with front flash for selfies. In terms of connectivity, the phone supports 3G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, GPS, USB 2.0 and requires a Nan-SIM.
Sony’s waterproof Xperia M4 Aqua hits the Indian market with a price tag of Rs. 24,990 and is available as of today. The Xperia C4 will become available at some point next month, the price of which has not been revealed by the company.
