ZTE officially announces flagship ‘Bezel-Less’ Nubia Z9 smartphone

‘Bezel-Less’ Nubia Z9 flagship smartphone with 5.2 inch screen and 3GB LPDDR4 RAM officially announced by ZTE

Nubia Z9, one of the most leaked devices this year has been over the Internet for the last couple of months displaying its ‘bezel-less’ design, various features and specifications. Also, ZTE has managed to up the hype by releasing lots of official teasers during that period of time.

Finally, all their efforts have paid off when the company announced their long-awaited flagship joining the likes of Nubia Z9 Max and Nubia Z9 Mini that were announced quite recently. However, as of now, ZTE’s Nubia Z9 will only be available in China.

ZTE’s Nubia Z9 flagship comes with a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display. It has 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM along with 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. The 16-megapixel OIS camera (f/2.0 aperture, 1/2.6-inch CMOS sensor, 6P optical lens) is located on the back of this handset and flanked by an LED flash.

The 80-degree wide-angle 8-megapixel shooter (1.4?m pixel size, CMOS sensor) is available on the front side of this device. Those cameras makes use of what ZTE calls ‘NeoVision 5.1 interface’, which is basically the company’s camera software fitted with all kinds of advanced options.

It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor which comes with an Adreno 430 GPU for graphics. The 2,900mAh battery is situated on the inside of this device, and Nubia Z9 will come with Android 5.0 Lollipop pre-installed with ZTE’s Nubia UI 3.0 on top of it. The device is both FDD-LTE and TD-LTE compatible. It also comes with Dual band 4G LTE connectivity, which is a part of this package.

Besides the above, the company has also brought ‘FiT’, which is short form for ‘Frame Interaction Technology’. This tech basically lets you to activate certain action on the phone by swiping its sides. These actions seem to be customized and ZTE will let developers to integrate their own actions here by certainly releasing APIs. It also offers fingerprint scanning technology, which will be available on the side of phone, which is a different kind of approach opted by ZTE from others. The company refers to it as ‘TiO’. However, one is unsure as to how this technology will work.

The phone is said to be available in three different variants. The 32GB variants will cost 3,499 Yuan ($565), the 64GB variant will cost 3,999 Yuan ($645) and the most expensive variant which includes ZTE’s fingerprint scanning technology will cost around 4,499 Yuan ($726). However, this variant comes with an inbuilt storage capacity of 64GB as well.

The Nubia Z9 is now available to buyers in China, however, ZTE has not revealed the date of international release.
