Unannounced OnePlus smartphone with dual camera setup rumored to be released in October 2015
Even before making the OnePlus 2 smartphone official this summer, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei had revealed that their next smartphone will be unveiled before Christmas this year. This week alleged leaked renders of the device have surfaced online.
According to a Chinese source (cited by Wccftech), OnePlusโ next OnePlus smartphone will have a better design compared to the OnePlus 2. It will likely to have an elegant design.
The leaked renders of the device indicate that the next OnePlus will most likely sport two cameras on the back. This means that the phone will come fitted with a dual-camera setup just like the Huawei Honor 6 Plus and others. Also, it has a dual-flash functionality, which is supposed to improve image quality in low lighted areas.
According to the source, Carl Pei mentioned that the smartphone will be aimed at a “different type of audience.” However, this statement could mean anything because of its vagueness.
On the specs front, one is hoping that OnePlus will not use the Snapdragon 810 processor that currently powers the OnePlus 2 smartphones and instead use a different processor. The Snapdragon 820 processor doesn’t seem an option, as it is expected to be out sometime in Q1 2016.
The OnePlus 2 flagship smartphone features a 5.5-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution (401ppi), an octa-core Snapdragon 810 in combination with 3GB/4GB of RAM, and either 16GB or 64GB of internal storage. We will have to wait and watch as to how the new OnePlus model will top this spec sheet.
On the other hand, as there is currently no official confirmation or evidence that the leaked images are legit, we will have to take them with a pinch of salt. We will also have to keep in mind that the end product might end up looking completely different, which is rumored to be released in October.
