Google gifts a Easter Egg on the eve of Star Wars release

Google search has got a fantastic new Star Wars Easter Egg

It seems that the Google engineering team is gripped with Star Wars mania.ย Following on from yesterdayโ€™s โ€˜Jedi or Dark Sideโ€™ browser tool kit, Google has come up with another celebration of Star Wars’ return in the form of one of its โ€˜type this into Googleโ€™ Easter eggs, and this oneโ€™s particularly slick.

Search for โ€˜a long time ago in a galaxy far far awayโ€™, and the phrase displays as rolling yellow-on-black text in deep space, mimicking the classic intro to every Star Wars movie. The search results even have a background score.ย Hit the sound button you can listen to the John Williamsโ€™ original score.

The Easter Egg results are little hard to click on but the fun is in seeing the search results slide away on the PC screen.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in cinemas on 17 December in the UKย and 18 December in the US.
