Windows 10 the problem OS needs the most repairs

Majority of callers for repairs are from Windows 10 owners says RESCUECOM Report

Windows 10 has arrived and so have the calls to repair shops. In fact Windows 10 tops the list of all problems owners have with computers according to the RESCUECOM quarterly report.

RESCUECOM is a top computer repair and tech support firm and has compiled the fully detailed 2015 Q3 Computer Repair Report and found that over half its tech support calls this quarter were from customers who had problems with Windows 10.

Windows O.S. and Windows app issues have increased dramatically due to the release of Windows 10 last summer because many less tech-savvy customers failed to understand that receiving the upgrade would mean converting their entire operating system from a familiar one to one they would need to relearn entirely.

The following, fully detailed in the 2015 Q3 Computer Repair Report, are this quarter’s rankings:

  1. Windows O.S. and Windows App Difficulties (56.4%)
  2. Viruses, Spyware, and Malware (11.3%)
  3. Slow Computer (7.4%)
  4. Hardware Install or Setup (5.9%)
  5. Internet Connection Issues (4.9%)
  6. Printer Trouble (4.8%)
  7. Email Problems (3.4%)
  8. Data recovery (2.5%)
  9. Mac App Concerns (1.3%)
  10. Failure to Boot / Blue or Blank Screen (1.2%)
  11. Phone Installation or Setup Trouble (0.5%)
  12. Mac O.S. Difficulty (0.4%)
  13. User-Created Issues (0.1%)

A little about Windows 10 :

Looking back at Windows 8, it’s easy to see where Microsoft went wrong. It was a giant bet on touch-based computing, but it made using a PC with a keyboard and mouse awkward, frustrating, and outright confusing.

That’s exactly what happened: developers didn’t flock toward Windows 8, and regular users did their very best to avoid it. While the tablet interface was a great experience, the rest annoyed everybody who just wanted a laptop that worked the way they were used to. Microsoft is trying to fix all that with Windows 10.

Windows has a cycle. Windows XP saved us from Windows ME, Windows 7 saved us from the Windows Vista mess, now Windows 10 is here to save save us from Windows 8.

Microsoft in late 2014 took the wraps off the Technical Preview of its next Windows operating system, and in doing so it took everyone by surprise. We expected the next generation of Windows: we just didn’t expect it to be called Windows 10. None the less here is Windows 10: the next Windows OS for PCs and laptops, smartphones and tablets. And, indeed, an OS for servers and all points inbetween.
Microsoft said that Windows 10 is built from the ground up for a world in which mobile- and cloud computing are key. Execs from the company said it was committed to making Windows 10 friendly for the enterprise, ideal for keyboard and mouse users, but also optimised for touch. Oh, and Windows 10 will put the same interface on devices with displays ranging in size from 4in to 80in. ‘One product family, one platform, one store,’ says Microsoft.
