Hive-CM8 apologizes for leaking the torrent of ‘The Hateful Eight’ screener

‘The Hateful Eight’ Leaker Hive-CM8 Apologizes To Quentin Tarantino

We had reported earlier that Hive-CM8 had leaked the Quentin Tarantino opus, ‘The Hateful Eight’ before is theatrical release. Now, the group has apologized for leaking The Hateful Eight has apologized to Tarantino for releasing the movie screener.

Hive-CM8 had leaked high quality DVD screener of The Hateful Eight on Christmas eve to the delight of torrent lovers. In an unprecedented announcement Hive-CM8 say they never intended to hurt anyone and now believe that the leak has resulted in free “media hype” on a scale bigger than Star Wars.

“We feel sorry for the trouble we caused by releasing that great movie before cinedate even has begun. We never intended to hurt anyone by doing that[;] we didn’t know it would get that popular that quickly,” said Hive-CM8 in its apology statement.

“We held back this title till 1 week after [theatrical release] to give the movie a fighting chance to play in the budget, we learned from our mistake,” Hive’s statement reads. “We didn’t plan to comment at all on recent events, but we feel now that we should.”

Hive-CM8 also sought to dispel the rumours of the screeners being procured through hack attack. “We got the copies sold from a guy on the street, no decryption was needed. We were definitely not the only ones [to have obtained copies]. A couple of other movies had been on the net days before, not done by us,” they note.

The apology was clearly meant for The Hateful Eight creator, Tarantino. “We feel sorry for the trouble we caused by releasing that great movie before [it’s release date] had even begun. We never intended to hurt anyone by doing that, we didn’t know it would get that popular that quickly,” Hive explains.

“The Hateful Eight is an excellent, thrilling and entertaining Western that combines terrific direction, a fantastic cast, a wonderful script, beautiful photography and a memorable score. All of those elements make The Hateful Eight an unforgettable film that is Quentin Tarantino at his best.”

Interestingly enough, Hive-CM8 even argues that its leaks help movie releases. It says that the media buzz it has created about The Hateful Eight has cause everyone to be talking about it, so now, people will want to see what all the fuss is about — with only one problem, though — they don’t have to pay to see what all the fuss is about.

“Since everyone is now talking about this movie we don’t think the producers will [lose] any money [upon theatrical release]. We actually think this has created a new type of media hype that is more present in the news, radio and in the papers than Star Wars, and the promotional costs for this were free,” Hive said.

It is not known whether Hive-CM8 will continue leaking the 40 movies it had promised last week. The torrent leaking group had promised torrent lovers that it will be leaking high quality unreleased Hollywood movies in coming days.
