Lenovo’s ZUK Z2 Pro Android smartphone offers Snapdragon 820, 6GB RAM and 128GB storage

Lenovo’s mobile-only sub-brand ZUK has just unveiled its new smartphone in China, called Zuk 2 Pro.

The smartphone features 5.2-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution Super AMOLED 2.5D curved glass display. While the display sounds mundane, it does go up to 500 nits, and down all the way to 1 nit, allowing you to read in the night. It also sports 100 percent NTSC and sRGB color gamut. It sports a metal body design and a 3D floating glass design as well.

It is powered by 2.15GHz Snapdragon 820 SoC processor with Adreno 530 GPU and comes with 128GB UFS 2.0 of in-built storage. However, the smartphone’s USP is the massive 6GB of RAM, something that has become a trend recently with Chinese smartphone companies.

The Zuk Z2 Pro runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box with ZUI 2.0 skin on top. It also supports USB Type-C (3.1), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, 4G LTE networks and GPS. Further, it comes with a huge 3100mAh battery with Qualcomm’s own Quick Charge 3.0.

The smartphone sports 13-megapixel rear camera with Isocell sensor, phase detection autofocus or PDAF, a pixel size of 1.34um, OIS, an f/ 1.8 aperture, and a dual-tone LED flash module, along with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with f/ 2.0 aperture and pixel size of 1.4um.

The Zuk Z2 Pro features a heart-rate sensor at the back, which can also measure oxygen saturation. It also has a fingerprint sensor with the U Touch 2.0 technology at the front below the display. The smartphone also features a shock-absorbing layer between the glass back and the metallic frame that’s designed to protect the device when it takes the inevitable tumble. The only thing that is not available in the smartphone is NFC.

Zuk Z2 Pro is priced at CNY 2699 (roughly $420) for the 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 128GB in-built storage version. Starting today, the device will be available to order from the company’s China website. Also, starting May 10, the 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM + 64GB in-built storage version will be available for order. However, the company has not yet disclosed the price for this model.
