Watch Franky Zapata’s awesome Flyboard Air

Franky Zapata’s Flyboard Air seeks to redefine the idea of a hoverboard

Flyboard Air is the brainchild of French Jet Ski champion Franky Zapata, whose previous invention was water-jet Flyboards – a sea-based hovering contraption which have very quickly become a popular vacation experience.

Over the weekend, Zapata released the first video that claims to show his new Flyboard Air with him in action. The Flyboard Air ditches the water jet for what appears to be a jet turbine engine, and allows him to soar in the sky to a maximum height of 10,000 feet (3,048 m) for maximum fly time of 10 minutes with a top ground speed of 150 km/h (93 mph).

Check out the first video posted by Zapata Racing of the Flyboard Air in action. While it is a proper space-age flying platform, Franky Zapata is the perfect man to pilot it. Even though it is slightly dangerous and has security concerns, he makes it look agile and fun.
