Watch why father of Linux, Linus Torvalds wants you to take up Linux as your career choice

Linux is said to be only answer to the Microsoft’s hegemony in the operating system world. We have already explained why Linux is better than Microsoft’s Windows 10. That being said, Windows 10 or Windows continues to remain the top operating system in the world fueling more career options for young graduates.

The father of Linux, Linus Torvalds has other views. As a part of promoting Linux, the Linux Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the growth of Linux, has recently published a new video starring the father of Linux, Linus Torvalds.

The one minute video posted by Linux Foundation dwells on budding graduates can choose their IT careers, and why they should choose to work in Linux-powered and Open Source environments.

For the uninitiated, Linus Torvalds started Linux, as in the Linux kernel, twenty-five years ago, in 1991, as a hobby. Torvalds had stated that he build the OS to suit his needs. Little did he imagine in 1991 that Linux would be powering thousands of machines world over and may be behind the world’s stealthiest destroyer or even powering your day to day Internet of Things.

Linux can be found almost anywhere these days, on the most demanding servers that power the World Wide Web (WWW), in your car, on your mobile phone, as well as in numerous small embedded devices.

Torvalds, in the inspiring video, says that Linux is not about technology but a community effort to bring the best in us. Torvalds wants budding engineers to consider choosing a career in Linux because the world needs more Linux and Open Source professionals.
