Pokemon Go players end up finding missing French woman
The hugely popular augmented reality mobile game, Pokemon Go, where on one hand, was welcomed by many gamers and appreciated for improving players’ health by encouraging them to move around more; on the other hand, it was criticised by some due to the exploration nature of the game and how that could be exploited by criminals. It has also been held responsible for becoming a public nuisance at some locations, and also for contributing to a number of deaths.
Yet, irrespective of its cons, the Pokemon Go was able to bring a smile to the family of a missing woman in France. Yes, you heard it right!
A group of six young Pokemon Go players in Annonay, Ardeche, France found a 60-year-old woman who had been missing for several hours. She was reported as missing to the police by her husband, who stated that his wife has health issues and had left home at about 1.30 p.m. In spite of looking for her for most of the day, the police were unable to trace her.
According to the regional newspaper Le Dauphine, when the missing woman was found by six young Pokemon Go players, she was stuck in tree branches and apparently looking confused in state of drunkardness.
Pokemon Go allows players to use the GPS facility on their smartphones, to find, capture, battle, and train virtual creatures in the real world. The gameโs GPS tracking makes it possible to see the characters in your immediate real-world surroundings.
