Angry customer goes on rampage in a French Apple Store, destroys iPhones, MacBooks with a steel ball (video)
A dissatisfied French customer took his rage to another level when he walked into an Apple store in the city of Dijon armed with a steel ball used in the bowling game Petanque and started smashing several new iPhones, iPads and MacBooks.
The incident, which was filmed by a customer in the shop was uploaded later on YouTube. The video shows a man wearing sunglasses undocking phones before smashing them with the steel ball.
The man is seen speaking in French about his rights as a customer and said he was unhappy with how Apple handled his case.
When the man noticed that he was being filmed, he addressed the camera to explain why he was destroying the phones.
โApple is a company that violated European consumersโ rights. They refused to reimburse me,โ he said.
โI told them: โGive me my money backโ. They said no. So you know what is happening? This is happening!โ he shouts, before swinging his steel ball down and wrecking the screen of another iPhone.
When the security showed up to detain him, the man tried to make an escape. However, he was stopped and eventually arrested by the police. The accused was taken into custody, and an investigation initiated, local media said.
It is estimated that the total cost of damage could be in thousands of dollars.
