Nokia N Series smartphones to make a comeback at MWC 2017 but with Android!

HMD To Relaunch Nokia’s N-Series N70, N80, N90, N91 and N92 Smartphones At MWC 2017 but with Android 7.10 Nougat

This news will make some Nokia users nostalgic!!! If reports are to be believed, HMD Global Company is preparing to relaunch the once famous “N Series” at Nokia’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) event that kicks off on February 27. The new Nokia N series smartphones are rumored to consist of five new smartphones –N70, N80, N90, N91 and N92. The assumptions came to light after a trademark for “NSERIES” appeared at China’s SAIC (State Administration for Industry and Commerce) institution, filed by the Finnish company.

According to some recent reports, the first smartphone that will be announced might be the N95. It is possible that the N-series devices might run on the 6th generation of Snapdragon processors and will sell in the mid-range category. The rumors also claim that the supposed N-series handset is already being mass produced and the initial production target is 500,000 units. However, there is no official statement released by the company on the same, so we recommend that you take this information with a pinch a salt.

Old timers who bought Nokia N Series smartphones in the 2000s will remember that it ran on Nokia’s proprietary Symbian operating system. Nokia had launched the N Series smartphones during its heydays as the king of mobile telephony. The first three Nseries devices introduced in April 2005 were N70, N90 and N91. It looks like Nokia is banking on the popularity these N Series smartphones generated in the 2000s to relaunch them with latest hardware and Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.

In January this year, Nokia launched “Nokia 6”, its first Android smartphone made in partnership with HMD Global, which has become a huge success with the masses in China. The smartphone was sold out under a minute in flash sales organized in China. While Nokia 6 is yet to be launched in other parts of the world, the Finnish company is expecting similar demand for the handset there as well.

Nokia is also rumored to launch a high-end flagship device, the Nokia P1 at MWC 2017. It will come with a Snapdragon 835 or Snapdragon 821 chipset, 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It will also feature a 22-megapixel rear camera with Carl Zeiss optics.
