The Honor Magic V is the first foldable smartphone to be powered by Qualcomm’s all-new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 5G processor, delivering outstanding flagship performance. Backed by the latest Adreno GPU, the device delivers an increase in GPU performance of 30 percent compared with the previous generation, enabling more productivity at faster speeds. It is also equipped with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, increasing overall processing speeds and storage capacity.
On the camera front, the Honor Magic V has three 50MP shooters on the back of the foldable, which includes the 50MP f/1.9 main camera wide-camera, 50MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP f/2.0 “spectrum enhanced camera” + ToF sensor. On the front, it has two 42MP selfie cameras (1 x in external display + 1 x in the folded display).
Featuring a dual-circuit battery design, the Honor Magic V is powered by a whopping 4,750mAh battery that supports 66W Honor SuperCharge, which the company claims to give 50 percent within just 15 minutes.
Besides supporting 5G, the device runs Honor’s Magic UI 6.0 software on top of Android 12, which allows for the simultaneous display of numerous apps, according to Honor.
Additionally, the Honor Magic V is coupled with Honor’s three engines, OS Turbo X, GPU Turbo X, and LINK Turbo X, which provides smoother usage, better temperature control, and more stable communications. It is also the first foldable smartphone to receive the IMAX Enhanced certification and has HDR10+ support.
The Honor Magic V is available in three stunning colors: Black, Space Silver, and Burnt Orange. It will start retailing in China on January 18th and is priced at RMB 9,999 for the 12+256GB version, and RMB 10,999 for the 12+512GB version.
