Samsung Electronics on Wednesday launched the Galaxy Tab S8 series – the Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S8+, and the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra – during its Unpacked 2022 virtual event.
According to the company, the Galaxy Tab S8 series offers you the freedom and flexibility you deserve to work and play anywhere like never before.

Galaxy Tab S8
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series features an 11-inch WQXGA (2,560 x 1,600 pixels) LTPS TFT display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 276ppi pixel density. It has up to 12GB RAM and 256GB of onboard storage, which can be expanded up to 1TB through a microSD card.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 is powered by an 8,000mAh battery, which supports Super Fast Charging 2.0 (up to 45W). It measures 165.3 x 253.8 x 6.3mm and weighs 503g (Wi-Fi only variant) and 507 grams (5G option).
For photos and videos, the tablet features a dual rear camera with a 13MP primary sensor (f/2.0 aperture) and 6MP ultra-wide lens (f/2.2 aperture). It also houses a 12MP ultra-wide selfie camera to facilitate video calling. There is also an LED flash.
Galaxy Tab S8+
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series features a 2.4-inch WQXGA+ (2,800 x 1,752 pixels) Super AMOLED display with 266ppi pixel density up to 120Hz refresh rate. It comes to up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage, which supports expansion via microSD card (up to 1TB).
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+ is powered by a 10,090mAh battery, which supports Super Fast Charging 2.0 (up to 45W). It measures 185.0 x 285.0 x 5.7mm and weighs 567g (Wi-Fi only variant) and 572 grams (5G option).
For photography, the tablet has a dual rear camera with a 13MP primary sensor (f/2.0 aperture) and 6MP ultra-wide lens (f/2.2 aperture). It also features a 12MP ultra-wide shooter at the front for selfies and video chats. Additionally, it has an LED flash.
Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 is a premium tablet, which features a 14.6-inch WQXGA+ (2,960 x 1,848 pixels) Super AMOLED display with 240ppi of pixel density and up to 120Hz refresh rate. It also boasts Galaxy Tab’s thinnest ever bezels at 6.3mm for a maximum screen-to-body ratio for a truly immersive experience.
The tablet comes with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage, which is expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card. It measures 208.6 x 326.4 x 5.5mm and weighs 726g (Wi-Fi only variant) and 728 grams (5G option).
On the camera front, the tablet features a dual rear camera setup with a 13MP primary sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide lens (f/2.4 aperture). It also has a 12MP ultra-wide selfie camera to assist video calling. It comes with an iPhone-like notch on the top to accommodate the dual selfie cameras. There is also an LED flash.
Common Features Available On Galaxy Tab S8, S8+, And S8 Ultra
All three tablets are powered by a 4nm 64-bit Octa-Core Processor, which is likely to be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, paired with Adreno 730 GPU for graphics. They all are running on the latest Android 12 operating system via Samsung One UI 4.1 on top.
On the connectivity front, the Galaxy Tab S8, S8+, and S8 Ultra models will include 5G and 4G LTE (optional) as well as Wi-Fi 6E (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax), Bluetooth v5.2, GPS + GLONASS, Beidou, Galileo, and a USB Type-C USB 3.2 port. Sensors onboard include accelerometer, geomagnetic, gyro, light, fingerprint, and hall sensor.
While the Galaxy Tab S8+ and S8+ Ultra have an in-display fingerprint sensor for security, the S8 comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
For multimedia experience, the Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+, and S8 Ultra tablets come with quad stereo speakers with AKG sound and Dolby Atmos support, and Knox. There are also three microphones onboard. All the models support video recording at 4K @ 30fps and video playback at 8K @ 60fps.
Samsung is also bundling a “new and improved S Pen” with all the models, as well as accessories such as the Book Cover Keyboard and Protecting Standing Cover.
Price and Availability:
Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 price starts at $699.99 for the Tab S8, $899.99 for the Tab S8+ and $1,099.99 for the Tab S8 Ultra. The color options available for the Tab S8 and Tab S8+ are Graphite, Silver, and Pink Gold, while the Tab S8 Ultra comes only in one color option – Graphite.
The Galaxy Tab S8 series will be available for pre-order beginning February 9, 10 AM EST, and will officially launch on February 25 starting with select markets including the U.S., Europe, and Korea.
