Streaming giant Netflix on Monday introduced “My Netflix,” a new personalized hub tab that offers easy shortcuts to help mobile users quickly find and stream titles on the platform.
The popular video streaming platform has dubbed the new “My Netflix” tab as “a one-stop shop tailored to you with easy shortcuts to help you choose what you want to watch.”
The new feature replaces the current Downloads tab on the Netflix app to offer users with a streamlined experience.
It acts as a new dedicated space where you can see your consolidated list of downloaded TV series and movies, titles that have received a thumbs-up, shows, and films saved to My List, watched trailers, set reminders for upcoming releases or for any show you may have stopped in the middle of watching, and more.
“When you’re on the move with your phone, go directly to My Netflix, where you can quickly choose something you’ve saved or downloaded to watch. You can still visit your Home tab and other sections of the app to discover our full catalog of series and films,” Edith Chao, the Netflix Product Manager, wrote in a blog post on Monday.
“Keep in mind that the more you interact with and tell Netflix what you like, such as saving more action-thrillers like Extraction 2 to My List or giving a thumbs up to every season of Bridgerton, the more you’ll see on the My Netflix tab.”
The My Netflix tab is now available on Apple iOS devices globally and is expected to roll out on Android devices in early August.
Earlier this month, the streaming giant updated the Profile Transfer feature to allow members to switch to an already existing account instead of creating a new one.
This feature lets people using your account transfer a profile — including personalized recommendations, viewing history, My List, game saves, and other settings to a different account.
