Lauri Love of Stradishall, England has been arrested on the charge of hacking into Computer systems of US Army, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and other Government agencies of U.S. Causing loss of millions of dollars.
Love was arrested on october 25th at his home in Stradishall, England. Paul Fishman, the U.S. attorney in New Jersey said.
โThey stole military data and personal identifying information belonging to servicemen and women,โ Fishman said in a statement. โSuch conduct endangers the security of our country and is an affront to those who serve.โ
Love and two of his friends from Sweden and Australia was found guilty of stealing personal information of workers at Missile Defense Agency, NASA and Army Network Enterprise Technology Command.
‘The hackers also stole data on the demolition and disposal of military facilities, natural-resource management, defense program budgeting data and nonpublic competitive acquisition bid data,’ according to Fishman.
Love was arrested by The Cyber Crime unit of the U.K’s National Crime agency at his home in Stradishall, England this friday.
Love and his friends were successful to hack into these computer systems back in October 2012 and they installed backdoor to get future access to these network, which they used to access the database of these networks. Hackers communicated with secure internet chat rooms and kept changing their online handles time to time, Prosecutors charged.
Love was charged in New Jersey because he allegedly used a server in Parsippany. He also faces federal charges in Virginia for other alleged intrusions, a report on ibmtimes said.
