The pro Syrian Hackers “Syrian Electronic Army” have added Paypal and Ebay to their list of victims.
Today in a tweet from their official Account, Syrian Electronic Army Confirmed that they were able to hack into The Domain Registry of Paypal and Ebay which is Managed by Mark Monitor.

The Screenshot in tweet Showed that SEA was somehow able to access the Admin panel, which they next targeted to edit the the DNS information of the websites, and helped them to deface the website.

Paypal is currently one of the biggest  international e-commerce business allowing payments and money transfers to be made through the Internet. whereas eBay is an American multinational internet consumer-to-consumer corporation. popularly used for Online shopping around the Globe. it could also be noted that On October 3, 2002, PayPal became a wholly owned subsidiary of eBay.

Paypal and Ebay’s U.K Domain (paypal.co.uk) (ebay.co.uk) was targeted and defaced, The Defaced page said Hacked By the Syrian Electronic Army, Long Live Syrian, and few abusive words to United States Government

Few other tweets from Syrian Electronic Army were dedicated to users of these service and the reason for which SEA targeted the Website

It is still not clear how SEA managed to hack into the Account, leaving behind many question over the Security of Mark Monitor, Ebay and Paypal.
At the time of writing the Article, websites were restored to normal.Earlier this year CNN and Microsoft were the Victim of SEA.

  1. That's fucking unbelievable… wow. I bet SEA is the owner of the #ChewBaca botnet, that's probably how they are getting all these high profile admin panels. Fucking unbelievable. Good for them!
