Anonymous allegedly promises #Op_Israel ‘Electronic Holocaust’ in April 7th 2015
A video purporting to be released by the hacktivist group Anonymous is doing rounds on YouTube. The video promises to inflict an “Electronic Holocaust” on Israel.
The video shows a individual wearing the trademark Anonymous emblem, the Guy Fawkes mask and in a suit delivering a prepared statement, in which he announces April 7 as the date of a concerted attack on Israel’s online servers.
“As we did many times, we will take down your servers, government websites, Israeli military websites, and Israeli institutions,” he says. “We will erase you from cyberspace in our Electronic Holocaust.”
The video includes images of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a briefing room with the defense minister and military leaders, as well as distraught Palestinian children and bombed areas that appear to date from Operation Protective Edge.
Anonymous has targeted Israel several times before for its actions against Palestine. Last year on the same date, Anonymous had targeted and brought down a few Israeli website under #OpIsrael. The group announced a similar campaign against Israel in November 2014, but no significant damage was reported.
We are contacting Anonymous to verify the ownership of the video and its message and will keep you updated accordingly.
