Windows Phone Bluetooth keyboard support coming soon to your Lumia devices
Given the pace at which Google and Apple have been sending out updates and adding new features to their Android 5.0 Lollipop and iOS 8.0 respectively, Microsoft has been rather slow with the Windows Phone updates.
However when it does come, it comes with some good news. Microsoft is finally adding support for Bluetooth keyboards to its Windows Phone run smartphones.
The Bluetooth keyboard was supported by old Windows Mobile 6.0 however surprisingly it is not supported by any version of Windows Phone. Having Bluetooth support for Windows Phone will let Windows Phone users like Lumia ones, to connect their Bluetooth keyboards and type away.
As per the news from Redmond, the new update called Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 will bring many changes in addition to Bluetooth support for keyboard. The new firmware update will have a slightly tweaked settings screen, as well as the option to pin individual settings to the home screen. Moreover, Microsoft have also made few changes in the app permission settings much on the lines of Android, allowing users to disable access to the camera and other privacy features on a per app basis.
It’s not clear when the Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 will be officially released but reports say that the newly announced Microsoft Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL devices.
