Xiaomi ditches online sales only model, Xiaomi Mi 4 and Redmi Note 4G to be sold through The Mobile Store in India
Close on the heels of ditching the flash sales model, the Chinese mega smartphone maker, Xiaomi has decided to junk its online sales only model. Xiaomi has entered into a MoU with the physical mobile stores operator The Mobile Store to sell its bestselling Redmi 4G and Xiaomi Mi 4 smartphones.
Though its online sales only model helped Xiaomi notch up good sales figures for its smartphones, it hasnt been able to reach the last mile buyers who prefer brick and mortar stores. Buyers who like to feel the smartphone or a gadget generally prefer the physical store to online retailers.
Redmi Note 4G is already being sold to Airtel outlets but they are sold in a locked model where the buyers are required to buy Airtel 4G connection with the smartphones. After signing the MoU with The Mobile Stores, both the Xiaomi smartphones will be available all over The Mobile Store shoppes across India including the 55 outlets in Delhi-NCR area.
Xiaomi has said that both the smartphones will be available at the same price as it is available on Flipkart. The 16GB Xiaomi Mi 4 variant will be available for Rs 19999.00, while the LTE-supporting Redmi Note 4G will cost Rs 9999.00.
The Mobile Store will also act as a sales and service centre for repairs of Xiaomi smartphones as per the MoU.
