Asus rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop firmware update for Zenfone 4, Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 6

Asus has announced that they will begin updating the entire Zenfone family of smartphones to Android 5.0 Lollipop this May. While the Zenfone 5 LTE (A500KL) has already started receiving its Lollipop update other Asus smartphones like  Zenfone 4, Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 6 are stated to get the update 2nd week of May.

The update will also come to Indian Asus Zenfone 4, Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 6 buyers in a phased manner via an OTA update. Alternatively you can go to the settings of your smartphone and check for software update. Remember to update your smartphone using Wi-Fi as the firmware version update may exhaust your data plan on 2G/3G and 4G/LTE.

The Asus Zenfone 2 was launched last week running Android 5.0 Lollipop. Since, Asus Zenfone runs on Zen UI you may not notice a huge difference in the phone experience but the update will add certain features to your Asus Zenfone like LockScreen notifications, pull-down quick toggles, ART runtime, user profiles, screen pinning etc.
