Ashley Madison CEO Noel Biderman Resigns after hack that exposed 37 million users

CEO of extramarital affairs website Ashley Madison,Noel Biderman resigns after third leak of member’s Emails is published on Internet by hackers.

The chief executive of extramarital affairs website Ashley Madison has left the company after the Impact Team released the third leak on the dark web.

โ€œEffective today, Noel Biderman, in mutual agreement with the company, is stepping down as Chief Executive Officer of Avid Life Media Inc (ALM) and is no longer with the company,โ€ said an unattributed statement on the Ashley Madison website. โ€œUntil the appointment of a new CEO, the company will be led by the existing senior management team.โ€

In July details of more than 37 m accounts were stolen from the website, whose tagline is: โ€œLife is short. Have an affair.โ€ The company is now being sued for emotional stress and Canadian police are investigating links between the hack and two suicides.

The company said that Bidermanโ€™s resignation was โ€œin the best interest of the company and allows us to continue to provide support to our members and dedicated employeesโ€ and that it remained โ€œsteadfast in our commitment to our customer baseโ€

โ€œWe are actively adjusting to the attack on our business and membersโ€™ privacy by criminals,โ€ the company wrote, saying that it would remain in business. Biderman has been notable by his silence over the course of the scandal, with police and security researcher Brian Krebs communicating much of the available information.

The third and latest data dump, after the first two major ones, posted at the site that first released the user database, appears to be a download of emails from Bidermanโ€™s personal Gmail account. The second torrent โ€“ released by an entity calling itself the Impact Team โ€“ contained emails that seemed to be from Bidermanโ€™s work account and its release had already done damage to his personal reputation: the executive told the New York Daily News in 2014 that he had never cheated on his wife, but the hacked documents suggested otherwise.

This is very easy to understand how awkward the situation is becoming day by day. This hack supposed to done by ‘The Impact Team’ has stormed many lives and has also led to people killing themselves.
