Meet the all new $249 OnePlus X

OnePlus X With 5-Inch Display, 3GB of RAM Launched at $249 (Rs. 16999)

OnePlus proved that it can deliver flagship level smartphones at cheaper prices and this has helped the company garner decent success in the highly competitive smartphone market. While its earlier releases have been runaway hits, OnePlus is focusing on style in its next release called OnePlus X.

OnePlus X will come in two models: the $249/£199 Onyx, which sports a sheet of black glass on the back, and a £269 ($410) Ceramic version, which will be available only in Europe and India. OnePlus has announced that it will only be making 10,000 Ceramic handsets so buyers will have to hurry up with the OnePlus invites.

The Chinese company has gone to great lengths to promote the design and material of its new handset, and it’ll be available in two models. The OnePlus X Onyx has a black glass backplate with metal edges, and it’s the thinnest and lightest handset OnePlus has made, weighing in at just under 140g, and measuring 6.9mm thin.

While OnePlus X Ceramic version will have hardened, scratch-resistant rear instead of usual the glass in Onyx. Both models feature OnePlus Alert Slider for customising notifications and have a 13MP camera on the rear with a snappy 0.2 second phase detection auto focus. While the front camera will be a 8MP affair. Both the smartphones will pack 801 Snapdragon SoC and run on 3GB of RAM.

Screen-wise, we’re looking at a 5in, 1080p affair, and it’s an OLED panel too – a first for the company – which should result in bold colours and true, deep blacks.

Both smartphones  will run on OnePlus’ custom OxygenOS (based on Android 5.1.1) out of the box.

The company said that the glass X model will be available on 5 November while the limited edition Ceramic version will hit stores on 24th November. Remember you can buy both only on separate OnePlus invites so hit the queue and book a OnePlus X.
