UFO over California? (video)

Hundreds report seeing UFO flying over southernย California

Hundreds of people reported seeing a strange lights over southern California. Many have posted videos of the strange phenomena to social media. So far there are several theories about what they could be.

Many UFO hobbyists have said that the lights belong to a Alien spacecraft but there are contrarian views as well.ย AccuWeather reportedย that this time of the year, fireballs light up the night sky. Each year the Earth passes through a stream left by the Comet Encke. The peak of the Taurid Meteor Shower is expected to occur from Nov. 5 through Nov. 12. ย ย There may be enhanced activity this year.

Whileย Orange County Sheriff Department confirms that it was a rocket test fired by the Navy off the coast of Southern California. It is not known why the Orange County Sheriff Department did not publicise the event earlier and came out with a clarification only after the sightings. There was another report from within the US government that the UFO sightings were in fact a test rocket by the Air Force.ย Kern County Fire Department told CBS Los Angeles the light was caused by a test rocket launched at Edwards Air Force Base.

Los Angeles International Airport is changing flight patterns because of โ€œmysterious maneuversโ€ over the Pacific, according toย KABC-TV. A portion of airspace over the ocean is closed for military operations.

A witness posted this to Los Angelesโ€™ Reddit forum:

Just watched this missile burn and then explode with a huge gas cloud expand really fast. We were looking North from Ramona, CA and the rocket appeared to be burning from West to East. There was a long contrail and the flames coming out were erratic. Then the flames stopped and about 30 seconds later the rocket became a very bright white light, and the gas clouds expanded from there. It had to be way up because the gas cloud expanded from our horizon to straight up in about 1 minute. Then there was the blue gas cloud that hung out for 10 minutes. Guessing it was a liquid fueled rocket, destructed deliberately.

It is not clear what these lights are. Check some them out for yourself here:

From all the reports circulating about the sightings, it seems that the blue light actually belongs to some top secret rocket being tested by the US military. It seems to be the plausible reason because of silence maintained by some quarter in the US military. This is confirmed by another reddit user,ย RoswellSpaceman.

Well, they kinda sorta told LAX about it yesterday:

Mysterious maneuvers over the Pacific are forcing a change in Los Angeles International Airport landings late at night, meaning noise for thousands of people in the flight path.

Instead of landing from the east over Inglewood, planes begin flying from the west and over the ocean to keep noise levels down, but due to secret military operations, the airspace over the Pacific is closed to incoming flights for the next week.

“We clearly understand that neighbors and communities east of the airport will experience noise and we apologize for that,” said Nancy Castles, LAX public relations director.

The military is not saying what exactly is causing the change, and LAX claims it’s also in the dark. Castles said all they know is planes can’t be flying at low altitudes to our west.

Six years ago, ABC7 cameras captured a military operation in downtown LA. Helicopters were seen swooping between high-rises, close enough that residents were able to see armed soldiers in camouflage outside their window.

Authorities claimed it was part of a training exercise designed to ensure the military’s ability to operate in urban environments and to prepare forces for upcoming overseas deployment.

What’s going on this week is a mystery.

“And plus if it’s a military thing it’s a good thing, that means they’re making it safer for us so I wouldn’t let it bother me,” said Steve Devosion of Inglewood. “I’d be more interested in them not doing something about what’s going on than them doing something about what’s going on.”
