Here is how to make your iPhone quicker in 10 seconds flat

Once you’ve downloaded your favorite apps, loaded them with music and taken a bunch of photos, even the most powerful iPhones can become a bit sluggish at times. Fortunately, there’s one easy thing you can do to get it running faster that Apple doesn’t really mention.

One tweet from Apple fan Marc Forrest brought the feature to the world, which clears your phone’s RAM, preventing it from slowing everything else down with apps you’re not using.

In his tweet, Marc says that all you need to do is hold down the power button on top of the phone until the slide to power off button appears, and then hold down the home button, located in centre of the bottom of the phone, until the app screen appears.

The home screen will then reappear, and your phone’s RAM will be cleaned out – leaving your phone noticeably quicker. Better yet, it won’t close the apps that you’ve already got open, so nothing should be lost. However, they will reload when you go to them.

It’s not a perfect fix – reloading apps means a short delay when you open them, and iOS does a pretty good job of managing your RAM usage by itself.

But if your phone is being slow and you’ve tried everything, resetting the RAM takes 10 seconds and could help dramatically.
