Facebook trying out new reaction button for Mother’s Day

To celebrate Mother’s Day on May 8th, Facebook comes up with dainty purple flower reactions button

The upcoming Mother’s Day on May 8 has all the service providing companies wagging their tongues at the business opportunities and Facebook is not different. The world’s top social network website need to in the loop for celebrating one of world’s most secular events, Mother’s Day and is trying out a temporary reactions button.

Earlier Facebook reminded you to call your mother, now the social networking behemoth is trying something different this Mother’s Day. It will be adding a new flower reaction to the already existing six reactions that it had enabled in Feb, 2016.

The new reaction button which could be temporary and just for the upcoming Mother’s Day, was first spotted by a Twitter user Sreedev Sharma.

The new reactions button, a dainty purple flower icon, was seen in the Facebook’s source code.  A subsequent statement from Facebook confirmed that it will enable the new reactions button on Mother’s Day for certain countries for a limited time.

Facebook told Verge that United States of America is not among the countries that the new reactions button will be visible on May 8th.  In the countries it will be available, it will disappear on May 9th but will still appear on posts where it was left during the few days it was live.
