Add wireless charging to any iPhone without any screwdrivers or soldering irons with this hack
Every time we hear news about a new iPhone launch, we eagerly wait for Apple to add wireless charging feature to it. But sadly, Apple has disappointed so far even as Samsung, LG, and other Android smartphone manufacturers have gone ahead and added the wireless charging feature to Android smartphones.
Now is your chance to add wireless charging to your existing iPhone without using screwdrivers or soldering iron with this hack. All you will need to do spend a little andย the following accessories :
- A wireless charging receiver card for your iPhone. A quick search of somewhere like Amazon will turn up a number of solutions, such as BEZALEL I6 Qi wireless charger receiver patch module (price at publication is $16.25).
- A Qi-compatible charger. Any of the ones listed here will do just fine, but there are many more you can choose from out there.
- A non-metallic flexible case or cover no thicker than 5mm (only required if the receiver coil you’ve chosen doesn’t come with a case). Apple’s own silicone cases work well (although they are expensive), as do the cheapo versions you can pick up from eBay or Amazon.
Once you have bought the above, fitting the charging coil is easy. Just connect the wireless charging card into your iPhone’s connector, fold it over the back, and pop it into a case and you’re done. While you will lose a port of your iPhone, the fact that you get wireless charging for your iPhone compensates it. The good news is that you can use the wireless charging hack for your iPhone even on the move.ย With a compatible in-car charger likeย this one) you can continue to charge your iPhone when on the move.
