Xiaomiย is developing a newย technology that reportedly uses sound and other components to charge smartphones and other electrical devices without the need for any power outlet.
The popular Chinese manufacturer has applied for a patent on the CNIPA (China National Intellectual Property Administration)ย that reveals some important information about the future charging solution called โSound Chargingโ which could be unveiled in the coming years.
According to the patent description, Xiaomi will use โa sound charging device, an energy storage device, and an electronic deviceโ.
Further, the sound charging device includes a โsound collection device, a plurality of energy conversion devices, and a power conversion deviceโ to convert environmental vibration into mechanical vibration.
The patent further states that the electronic device will transform this mechanical vibration into an alternating current (AC), which will then be converted to direct current (DC) using the power conversion device.
It is important to note that this wireless sound charging technology is still only a patent, which means that it does not guarantee its use in the near future.
We will have to wait and see whether Xiaomi will reveal more information about its upcoming sound charging technology in the coming months.
Recently, Xiaomi had showcased its new Mi Air Charge technology that can charge several devices simultaneously without the need for charging cable or stands.
Currently, the company holds 17 Mi Air Charge Technology patents.
