A while ago Rockstar officially confirmed that they are working on the latest iteration of Grand Theft Auto namely GTA 6.

In a recent blog post, Rockstar stated that GTA 6 needs to be “the best it can possibly be“. The developers also claimed that over the past few years they had been steadily moving more development resources towards the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series.

After the underwhelming launch of GTA Trilogy, Rockstar wants GTA 6 to be the best it can possibly be. At the time of writing this article, GTA V is almost a decade old. So we can definitely expect GTA 6 to be a groundbreaking title as Rockstar has already consumed more than enough time to develop the game.

Some reliable reports also suggest that Rockstar has slowed down the development of the Red Dead Redemption Remaster and a GTA 4 Remaster so that they can focus on GTA 6.

Another reason why they might have done so can definitely be the underwhelming reception of the GTA Trilogy that consisted of three classics namely GTA 3, GTA San Andreas, and GTA Vice City.

Sadly, there’s no official information available about the launch date, graphics capabilities, platform support, and map updates of GTA 6. However, similar to GTA V we can expect GTA 6 to initially launch for the next-gen consoles like PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. After a year or so the game will be ported to PCs.
