Gmail Launches ‘Manage Subscriptions’ Feature

A coupon code here, a newsletter there. Before you know it, your inbox is bursting with emails you barely remember signing up for—daily deal alerts, promotional emails from retailers you haven’t visited in years, newsletters you never read, and/or event reminders from LinkedIn.

These messages aren’t always classified as spam, but they can still contribute to cluttering your inbox, making it harder to spot important emails.

If this daily clutter has driven you to the brink of email meltdown, there’s some good news for Gmail users.

Google is rolling out a new “Manage subscriptions” tool in Gmail that lets users view, organize, and manage their promotional, subscription, and newsletter emails—all from one convenient place.

Everything In One Place

With the new “Manage subscriptions” view, you will find a neatly organized list of the services you are actively subscribed to. The list is ranked by the most frequent senders alongside the number of emails they have sent you in the past few weeks. In other words, the worst offenders will rise to the top.

Further, just hit on any of the senders to get a direct view of all the emails they have sent. Not interested anymore? Just click on “Unsubscribe” that appears to the right of the sender’s name. Gmail will instantly send a request on your behalf to the sender to remove you from that mailing list. Simply put, you now no longer need to scroll to the bottom of emails to find hidden unsubscribe links.

To access this feature, open the navigation menu in the top-left corner of your inbox and select “Manage subscriptions.”

Availability

The feature is currently rolling out on the web version of Gmail, with Android users gaining access starting July 14, and iOS users following on July 21.

It is available to personal Gmail users, Google Workspace customers, and Workspace Individual users in select countries. While there’s no official timeline for a global rollout, many users have already begun to see the new tool appear.
