The Man accused of being the Notorious hacker Guccifer is 40-year-old Marcel Laz?r Lehel, who had already been caught for hacking several Romanian public figures email and sentenced for 3 years of Supervised release for dozen of charges in Feburary 2012.
Guccifer’s list of target is huge In addition to the above mentioned he also hacked Accounts of a U.S. senator, members of the Rockefeller family, former FBI and Secret Service agents, a senior U.N. official, Sidney Blumenthal, an aide to Bill Clinton and members of the Council on Foreign Relations.
while he loved to target politicians and Government agencies, he also hacked Accounts of several Celebrities. In may 2013 he leaked the original unpublished manuscript of Sex And City Author Candace Bushnell. and previously he also posted the original script for the finale of “Downtown Abey” season 4, that he accessed from the email account of the show’s creator Jullian Fellowes, 6 months before the show was on Air.
Their are several Passwords, documents, that Guccifer compromised, the list contains spreadsheet of phone numbers, email addresses, social security numbers, passwords for various websites, along with drawings, documents – such as doodles by Bill Clinton, self-portrait that George W. Bush painted of himself taking shower.
Earlier this month Guccifer in a statement to The Smoking Gun told that he was never worried of being caught, “NO I am not concerned, i think i switch the proxies go to play some backgammon on yahoo watch tv, play with my family and daughter,”
While Guccifer never stated how he was able to hack the emails but experts believe it is possible that he was able to guess the Security questions correctly, may be after reviewing Wikipedia pages, Names of their relative or popular pet’s name.
