4G version of Motorola’s Moto E 2nd Generation will be launched in India by May

Motorola plans to launch 4G version of Moto E 2nd Generation with Android 5.0 Lollipop in India by May.

Motorola’s Moto E 2nd Generation flagship 3G version was launched in India on March 10th and it will be available exclusively for online sale from 12th March, through Flipkart at a price of Rs. 6999.00.

During the launch Amit Boni, General manager, Motorola India said, “The 4G version will not take much time and we will launch it soon in India. The device will be similar, except for the processor and will be very competitively priced.”

Now, Motorola has announced that the Moto E 2nd Gen 4G version would be available in India within a span of 2 months i.e. by May. The price of 4G has not been announced however Boni said ” “We have not decided on the pricing, but my sense is that it will be sub Rs 10,000.” which indicates that 4G too should be available at an affordable price in the range of 8999.00 to 9999.00 in direct competition to Redmi Note and Yu Yureka from Micromax both of which are 4G devices. Motorola would be the first one to bring the Android 5.0 Lollipop version in India through its flagship Moto E 2nd Generation.

The major difference in Moto E 2nd Generation 4G and 3G version will be its processor and the pricing. 3G version has 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200, 32-bit processor and 400MHz Adreno 302 GPU and 4G version has 1.2GH quad-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and a 400MHz Adreno 306 GPU. It was just 15 days back that Motorola had unveiled its Moto E 2nd Generation at a global level. Its 3G handset is available for $119.99 (around Rs 7,500) and the 4G version at $149.99 (about Rs 9,400) in the US.

Till fourth quarter of 2014 4G LTE handset of Apple captured the Indian market however with the growing need for 4G LTE ,which gives higher speed of internet; the smartphone manufactures have also designed newer versions incorporating the 4G in their handsets and it is also available at a very affordable price. To name a few 4G devices with their prices are Lenovo A6000  at Rs 6,999  (available 18th March), Yu’s Yureka at Rs 8,999 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G at Rs 9,999 and now Motorola has launched its Moto E 2nd Generation with the 4G version.

Moto E 2nd Generation flagship has incorporated the latest versions of Android 5.0 Lollipop and with improvised version of the display screen, a 2390 mAh battery, Display for notifications, Moto Migrate which helps to transfer data easily, Quick capture feature in its camera. Moto E 2nd Generation is trying to withstand the acute competition with other smartphone manufacturers like Lenovo, Xiaomi, Yu’s Yureka which are known to incorporate the advanced technology and sell the handsets at a cheaper rate.
