Windows 10 comes to Raspberry Pi 2, MinnowBoard Max, Intel Galileo and Arduino

Microsoft has already announced its intent for making Windows 10 a universal operating system encompassing all connected devices. Today, Microsoft released Windows 10 IoT Core with the aim of arming all Internet of Things devices with Windows 10.

The developer preview for Windows 10 IoT Core insider will work with the Raspberry Pi 2, MinnowBoard Max and Intel Galileo. You can also connect other Arduino devices through Windows Remote and Windows Virtual Shields.

For the uninitiated, Internet of Things (IoT) is a lexicon for describing all things that can be connected to the Internet. This can either be your refrigerator, remote, car or anything as small as a needle. IoT is seen as the next big thing in technology and will power the future connected world in a big way.

You can download Windows 10 IoT Core here. For Internet of Things aficionados and researchers, Microsoft is working on a couple of projects which can be viewed here.
