Leaked data shows that Xiaomi will launch 4 more smartphones in 2015 while Huawei will be launching 7
The year 2015 may see a record number of releases from smartphone makers. According to leaked data available with Chinese website Mobile-Dad, Xiaomi and Huawei are at the forefront of planning most releases for 2015. The product roadmap to which Mobile-Dad has access to show what new smartphones and phablets the two will launch this year.
According to the leak, Xiaomi has four new handsets planned for 2015. The next smartphone which Xiaomi is planning to launch is called Xiaomi Mi 4S, The naming convention suggests Xiaomi is emulating Apple once again.
The Xiaomi Mi 4s is scheduled to be launched in June 2015 and will feature a 5-inch Full HD display and run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC processor, a 13MP rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 5MP front-facing camera.
This will be followed by 2 Redmi siblings in July 2015, Redmi Note 2 and Redmi Note 2 Pro. As per the leaks both of them will be mid-range smartphones and will feature a 5.5-inch HD display a 13MP rear camera and 5MP selfie snapper. While Redmi Note 2 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor while the Redmi Note 2 Pro will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor.
The Xiaomi flagship and highly anticipated Xiaomi Mi 5, the successor of Mi 4, is planned for November and comes with a 5.2-inch QHD (1440x2560p) display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, and a 20.2MP rear camera.
Huawei
The leaked roadmap also shows Huawei is planning as many as 5 smartphone releases in 2015. First to come in May is Huawei’s Ascend D8. The Ascend D8 will sport a 5.5-inch QHD display and have the default Hisilicon SoC, and come in a all round metal casing.
This smartphone will be followed by Ascend Mate 8, to be launched in June and sporting a 6-inch QHD display, Kirin SoC, and 16MP rear camera with OIS.
In July, Huawei plans to launch another two smartphones, however the roadmap doesn’t reveal their names. One of them comes with a 5.5-inch full-HD display and Hisilicon SoC, and the other with a 5-inch HD display and Qualcomm CPU.
The next model of the Honor flagship series, Honor 7, is due in August and reportedly comes with a 5.5-inch HD display, Kirin SoC, and dual 13MP cameras.
The Ascend P9, with a 5.2-inch display, Kirin SoC, and a 16MP camera with OIS, is also scheduled to launch with it.
Also, another Huawei Honor series smartphone is scheduled to be launched in December.
