Oppo launches dual-SIM Neo 5 (2015) with 4.5 inch display and 8MP rear camera in India priced at Rs. 9,990

Last week, after globally launching the smartphone, Oppo has now introduced the Neo 5 (2015) in India, priced at Rs. 9,990. The new smartphone from OPPO will be available in India from June 15. The company had last week also introduced the Oppo Neo 5s; however, no details have yet been provided about the Neo 5s’ India launch.

As compared to the last year’s original Neo 5, the Oppo Neo 5 (2015) features are slightly better. As for the specs, the Oppo Neo 5 sports a 4.5 inch IPS display with 480X854 resolution along with a pixel density of 219ppi and scratch-resistant Dragon Trail Glass protection. Oppo claims it has used a special laminating glass fiber, which is military-grade for the rear body. The dual-SIM smartphone supports one Micro-SIM card and another Nano-SIM.

The smartphone runs on Color OS 2.0.1i based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor clubbed with Mali-400MP2 GPU and 1GB of RAM. It comes with an internal storage of 8GB, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. It is backed by a 2000mAh Li-Polymer Battery (unremovable) with 180 hours of standby time. The handset measures in at 131.9×65.5x8mm, and weighs 135 grams.

For the camera lovers, the smartphone features a 8-megapixel rear camera with a Sony IMX179 Backside Illuminated (BSI) sensor and a f/2.2 aperture. It also features a 2-megapixel front facing camera. On the connectivity front, the Oppo Neo 5 (2015) includes 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS and Micro-USB.

The Oppo Neo 5s introduced last week features a 4.5-inch (480×854 pixels) FWVGA IPS TFT display and sports wet touch input and gloved functionality. It is powered by a 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) processor, which is coupled with 1GB of RAM and an Adreno 306 GPU.
