Xiaomi Redmi 2 gets a price-cut of Rs 1,000, now available in India at Rs.5,999
It looks like it is raining price cuts at Xiaomi India. The company took to Twitter to announce a price cut of Rs. 1,000 in Xiaomi Redmi 2, following which it will cost Rs. 5,999 in India from the original launch price of Rs. 6,999.
Starting today, Redmi 2 will be available on Xiaomi website www.mi.com/in and across all Mi India partners including Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal, The Mobile Store and Airtel.
Redmi India on Sunday evening had tweeted an image along with text reading, โPaint the town red. Get ready to change your phone.โ The partial visible image already gave the clue about the new price.
The Redmi 2 first went on sale in March this year in India. The Redmi 2 is Xiaomi’s first phone to support 4G dual-SIM and use a 64-bit Quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 processor.
The smartphone comes with 4.7 inch fully laminated IPS HD display coupled with 1GB of RAM. It is backed by a 2,200mAh battery and comes with Android 4.4-based ?MIUI 6 operating system. It has 8GB of internal storage capacity which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. The Cortex A53 CPU and Adreno 306 GPU on Redmi 2 offer 30 per cent faster browsing speeds and an overall 50 per cent higher CPU performance compared to Redmi 1S. It features a 8MP rear facing camera and 2 MP front facing camera with selfie timer.
Earlier this Sunday, Xiaomi reduced the Redmi Note 4G price by Rs 2,000 to Rs 7,999. Price cuts were also announced on the Mi 4 16GB GB and 64GB models.
