Xiaomi Mi 5, Mi 5 Plus will be launched tomorrow : Here’s what to expect

Xiaomi has learned the social participation launching game and by now knows how to keep the curiosity level above the head before any unveiling. The Chinese smartphone company has finally released a new teaser on their Facebook page asking their fans to guess the surprising features in the new phone or simply surveying public demands.

Yes; to add fuel to the fire, the company has released a new teaser that shows a new possible feature – wireless charging. The company has posted an image on its social media pages showing what seems to be a wireless charger attached to a microUSB port, while also reiterating the launch of a smartphone tomorrow.

The new charger could be for Mi 5 which is rumored to be launched tomorrow in China. Its bigger variant Mi 5 Plus may also find its way to the market tomorrow. However, there are no confirmations and the company has made no official statement regarding the launches. If Xiaomi manages to come up with a wireless charger, it will be one of the amazing findings making Mi5 usage a lot simpler.

In the teaser Xiaomi says it has ‘redesigned something from head to tail’ indicating that it isn’t a new product launch, but an upgrade to an existing line-up. The Mi 4 was unveiled at a global launch event in July last year, indicating further that its successor will be unveiled tomorrow.

Wireless charging system would be a big significant highlight for Xiaomi, if the Mi 5 boasts of it. This year, Samsung has already used this feature as an important tool in its battle against the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

Alongside the Mi 5, we also expect the Mi 5 Plus to be unveiled simultaneously. The Mi 5 and Mi 5 Plus have been one of the most anticipated devices of the year, and therefore leaks have been plenty. Both the smartphones are rumored to have a bezel-less display and be priced under 3,000 Yuan (Rs 30,700 approximately).

As far as the Mi 5 goes, it would feature a 5.2-inch 2K LCD display and a Snapdragon 820 chipset coupled with 4GB RAM. It will come in 16/64GB variants, and also integrate a fingerprint scanner in the home button. It is expected to highlight a 16-megapixel primary camera along, a 13-megpixel secondary camera for trending Selfie, the company’s new MIUI 7 (most likely based on Android 5.1 Lollipop), a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging abilities.

Coming to the Mi 5 Plus, it may feature a full metal body and a larger 5.7-inch 2K display well protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor, and also come with a fingerprint scanner. It is expected to offer 32GB of internal storage. Additionally, it also features a 23-megapixel primary camera, along with a 12-megapixel secondary camera, and powered with a 3,500mAh battery which supports fast charging.
