Apple iPhone 6S is nearly indestructible shows new leaked BendGate test video

Leaks suggest Apple may be using 7000 Series Aluminum for making indestructible iPhone 6S

According to the rumors floating around, the much-speculated iPhone 6S appearance is more likely to be the same as iPhone 6. However, Apple may be planning to make a noteworthy upgrade to its industrial design.

According to Lewis Hilsenteger of Unbox Therapy, who states that he has managed to get his hands on the rear protective cover of the next iPhone says that the durable material that was used in the Apple Watch Sport would used in the next iPhone as well.

This would mean that the iPhone 6S would have sturdier frame in comparison to the iPhone 6 and there would be no bending issues that some iPhone 6 users had to experience. If Hilsenteger’s video turns out to be true, it is going to be a tough task to bend the iPhone 6S.

Hilsenteger after performing thorough tests on the materials found inside the shell came to a conclusion that the iPhone 6S has much more zinc than the iPhone 6.

He believes that the Apple’s 7000 Series Aluminum used in the casing of the Apple Watch Sport has been utilized in the manufacturing of iPhone 6S. According to Apple, this type of Aluminum is not only very light but also 60% stronger than standard alloys.

Hilsenteger put force on each component to test the durability of the new iPhone’s shell in comparison to the current generation phones. The iPhone 6’s shell began to give away near the volume buttons after about 30 pounds of pressure was applied.

However, the iPhone 6S, proved to be much stronger in Hilsenteger’s test. After experiencing about 80 pounds of pressure, the phone was only slightly bent. This means that the iPhone 6’s shell was able to handle more than double the amount of pressure before it started bending notably.

Have a look at the phones below after the test.

According to Hilsenteger, there are a couple of flip sides of using newer material into the iPhone by Apple. Firstly, the 7000 Series aluminum is more costlier than the type of aluminum used in the current iPhone. Secondly, it gets destroyed or damaged very easily.

This would be the second feature that Apple would be incorporating from the Apple Watch into the iPhone 6S, that is, if the rumors turn out to be legitimate.

There have been reports floating around for months hinting that the next iPhone may come with Force Touch in its screen just like the Apple Watch. Only when Apple launches its next iPhone, which may be likely next month, would we get to know the features incorporated into phone. Till then, we will have to wait and watch or until any other rumors regarding the next iPhone comes up.
