Xiaomi Introduces Mi Mobile Power Bank 2, To Go On Sale From December 19
Xiaomi, the Chinese electronics company, launched an updated version of the 20,000mAh Mi Mobile Power Bank 2 with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and two-way fast charging last Friday. To those unfamiliar, Xiaomi had launched the original Mi mobile Power Bank with a capacity of 20,000 mAh in November last year, and earlier this year in India.
Similar to the first generation power bank in terms of look and feel, the new 20,000mAh Mi Power Bank 2 will continue to have the same ABS plastic body for a better grip instead of an aluminium body. However, the Mi Power Bank 2 has a shorter and narrower build. Its dimensions measures 135.5 x 67.6 x 23.9mm, which makes it more compact but slightly thicker than its predecessor.
Available in white color, the latest Mi Power Bank 2 uses high density lithium polymer batteries. The power bank offers dual 5.1V/3.6A output when two devices are connected, and the single port output is raised to 5V/2.4A. There are also output ratings of 9V/2A and 12V/1.5A. This power bank is capable of full charging the 4850mAh battery of Xiaomi Max within 2.5 hours. It can also charge most smartphones, tablets and it even supports the latest Apple MacBook. The latest power bank can also be used to charge the Mi Band 2 and other gadgets that require minimal current charge.
The 20,000mAh Mi Power Bank 2 is priced at CNY 149 (roughly $22/Rs. 1,450) and is expected to go on sale from December 19 in China. However, there is no news when the device will be rolled out worldwide.
