How To use Apple Airpods with Androidย smartphones or tablets
When Apple officially announced its iPhone 7 in September 2016, they decided to do away with the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack and instead opted for the all new Appleย Airpods.
AirPods are Appleโs new wireless, cord-free in-ear headphones. While Apple has made it easy to pair AirPods across all of its devices in a matter of seconds, these earphones donโt come cheap. They are expensive at $159, considering that you can get a decent pair of Bluetooth earbuds for around $30.
While Airpods work on all Apple products, you can make them work on your Android device too. Hereโs how you can pair Appleโs newest creation with your Android device.
1. Open the Bluetooth settings screen on the device you’re going to use your AirPods with.
2. With the AirPods in the charging case, open the lid.
3. Press the small pairing button placed on the back of the case and hold it for few seconds until the light on the case begins blinking white. Once it starts blinking, let go.
4. Now, the Airpods have been set to the pairing mode with the menu on the device, select them and follow any prompts.
Repeat this process on each device you want to use the AirPods with. If during the pairing process, you run into issues then Apple suggests opening the lid and holding in the button on the back until the indicator light blinks amber. Let go of the button, close the lid, and try again.
The only difference while using the Airpods on the Apple iPhone device and the other smartphone devices is that you will lose out on some features, such as a battery indicator or the simplicity of switching between devices. However, they still complete the action. Also, you wonโt get the benefits of Siri, as it would not be activated by touching on the Airpods. In addition, a double-tap on either earbud would pause and restart the music.
Let us know what do you think of the AirPods and would you experiment it with your Android devices in the comments section below.
Why would you even try to do that???
Because they want to have great earbuds, but don’t have the best phone…….. YET
